Summer is quickly approaching and the weather is warming up. We are already receiving an increase in wasps and yellow jackets. Although they can be helpful for controlling pests in your garden, they can potentilly be extremely aggressive if they think their nest is in danger. Also, you should never get between a wasp and their nest (they can be hidden anywhere from your garage or wall crevice to a rotten tree stump). When wasps are coming in or out of a nesting hole, be cautious to stay out of their flight pattern. Once you're aware of the nest location, it's wise to stay clear to avoid being stung. We recommend calling a professional to deal with yellow jackets and wasps, especially if you see several or a nest on your property.
It's not just the British national anthem or a punk rock song from the 70's. This is the cry of that ruthless ant colony that is invading your home. Occasionally, a few little visiting ants are not reason to panic. But when you see 15 or more, it's time to think about calling a professional. You might instinctively head straight to your neighborhood store for a name-brand spray that promises to kill all the ants. And there's a good chance that it'll kill the majority. Unfortunately, those sprays fail to kill the most important ant of all, the queen. She has no known authority or decision-making control; instead her sole function is to reproduce. Not all queens need a male to reproduce either. There are asexual queen ants that can reproduce quickly, even after you think you have won by killing all visible ants. At Healthy Homes, we value our customers and give them the best possible service. If you have an ant infestation, let us take care of it for you. Unlike the words of the famous song, we will NOT save the queen! We use green products that are safe for you and the environment, but also get the job done. |
